Prosthesis Manufacture

Prosthesis manufacture uses 3D image data derived from a variety of scanners to produce solid structures in a variety of materials, using computer-driven machining methods.

We have a routine service for making Titanium Cranioplasty plates and customised maxillofacial repair plates from CT Data. Taking data from disk, tape or via the Internet, we can produce ready-to-use anodised Titanium plates and screws. The plates are manufactured by fully qualified and experienced personnel. When required these can be made to match the opposing side of the skull using a Mirror-imaging technique. We have manufactured prosthetic soft-tissue structures such as the external ear meatus in appropriate materials.

We have manufactured a wide variety of models in polyurethane foam, plaster and ABS plastic to assist surgeons in difficult orthopaedic and maxillofacial cases. These models can greatly aid the conduct of difficult procedures as can our straightforward imaging service and surgical planning using our 3D workstation.
