Imaging services

Using our own 3D Surgical Planning Workstation we take image data from a wide variety of different sources to reconstruct 3D images. The workstation has tools which allow 'surgical' removal and repositioning of segments of the imaged tissues. This function is useful both for planning surgery and also as a means for visualising otherwise hidden anatomy. Many other facilities are available, including measurements: linear and curved distances and volumes of selected and segmented regions.

The following gives a brief view of some of the functions. In order to appreciate the power of the facility, viewing some of the video sequences provided is recommended. There is necessarily some considerable degradation of the image data in order to allow economical Internet transfers.
