Clinical 3D Imaging Services

The NHS side of the UCL Medical Graphics and Imaging Group, we provide routinely, new image-based services including:
Diagnostic assessment and measurement; Cranioplasty Plate; other prosthesis and surgical model manufacture.

These services are available to UCLH; other Local and National hospitals, both within the NHS and privately, at very competitive charges (see below). These services include:
- Laser Surface scanning; to assess and measure changes due to surgery or other treatment;
- CT, MRI imaging and (more recently)
- 3D Ultrasound, for assessment; measurement or treatment planning.
- Surgical Planning allows considerable savings in theatre time for some procedures. This includes the facility for making Models, which can be used for planning or taken into theatre in difficult procedures; and the related operation of Prosthesis Manufacture, for example cranioplasty plates.

Our very close involvement with the Research and development side of the group gives us the potential to quickly develop and extend new services in response to clinical need. Some of our services (eg Prosthesis Manufacture ) are available via the Internet. We can transfer images electronically; make a prosthesis and post it off in a relatively short time at a very reasonable cost.

All our techniques have been developed with a view to efficient solution of clinical problems and we maintain very close links with the relevant clinical experts.
