    Introduction

AnimatedThis software provides the user with a set of tools for examining three dimensional volumetric data. In the default mode a surface at a selectable threshold is imaged. This image can be interactively rotated, scaled, resliced , measured and edited. It runs under 32 bit Windows (preferably NT) and is multi-threaded for multi-processor systems. The images shown here were each rendered in less than a second on a dual processor 200MHz Pentium Pro machine.

    Image Formats

Three different resolutions of 2D slices can be loaded 64*64, 128*128 and 256*256 all at 8 bit resolution. The number of slices loadable is usually limited by the available memory on the pc used. There is also a software limit of 350 slices at 256*256 resolution (this would need about 180 Mbytes of memory ) and 800 at other resolutions. The slice data are stored one slice to a file with a separate header file containing dimensional and other information.
