This project involves mainly an investigation into segmentation of ultrasound data using a technique found in
mathematical morphology known as the Watershed transformation The Segmentation is aided by
automatically fitting a deformable template of the object to be segmented on the data. This rough
segmentation (which is governed by a Genetic Algorithm search procedure) is then modified using the
Watershed transformation Various utilities have been programmed to help test the main technique.
